Had a great time at the Asheville Tourists ballgame over the weekend. It's one of the few things left that are still a good entertainment value. The fireworks afterwards were awesome as well.
Haven't seen live firworks since 1995 or so, but I watched 2 TV specials this year for the first time. I saw Jimmy Smitts in DC with Barry Manilow and Aretha Franklin and then Neil Diamond with the Boston Pops. I met Neil back in 1967 when I was 11, so I just flat out didn't care how rough he's sounding these days. It's just plain FUN to see him and sing along.
